Somehow, along the way, I forgot the feeling of choosing between sleep and waiting for a message. The feeling of waiting for a message that might not come. That feeling of hope and then telling myself not to--the side of me that is too familiar with getting burned telling me not to expect anything to ease the eventual disappointment. This feeling of being broken- and the reminder of the girl that made me this way. That first grabbed my heart and taught me what was despair. Then I start to wish I had never attempted to do it again in the first place.
